Notes:

• The Program Committee Chairman position was created during the meeting of the Board of Advisors on 1985-04-21. The Section Year transitioned during that same meeting, and the first Program Chairman was appointed as the first order of business by the new Section Chairman.
• The Papers Chairperson position was created during the meeting of the Board of Advisors on 1986-05-04. The original purpose of this position was to maintain and handle sales of previous papers proceedings to relieve burden on the Treasurer. By the 1990s, responsibilities included compiling the papers into the bound proceeding set, and it was often referred to as the Papers Review Chair. This position was rescoped during the 2006-11-12 Board of Advisors meeting into the Vice-Chair position to allow flexible sharing of duties and workload with the Program Chair.
• The Combustion Art Competition was sanctioned by the Board of Advisors during its meeting of 2004-03-21. The first chair appointed during that meeting was Nick G. Glumac, who was to be assisted by Ajay K. Agrawal.
• The Outreach Committee Chair position was created during the meeting of the Board of Advisors on 2010-11-07, with the first chair Timothy J. Jacobs being appointed during that meeting.
